I am building a form now for registration with the chronoforms, but I want to throw something out here to see if anyone has tried this, if anyone knows if it is possible, and if not, if someone might have a suggestion of a component that might complete the task.
I have sobi2 set up, and I would like, when people submit, to use a format/template, only providing certain information with brief description, so that the directory is consistant and layout is the same for each post.
I would love to be able to do the following-
Have a chronoform set up requesting certain pieces of information from a member, with again, a brief description area of what they are posting.
I would like that to be almost a core entry of sobi2, so when they enter that information, that is what is submitted into the sobi2 entry, in that format that the form lays out.
Is this even possible?
I guess one very broad example would be, phpbb has a toolkit for members needing help with their install. The toolkit collects the persons server information from the information submitted by the poster, and then after submitting, it generates some coding which the user copy/pastes into their post.
I am looking for I guess you could say generator type form that posts that information directly into a sobi2 posting so noone could go off the information requested template, or if anyone might be able to suggest something that might work for that, or if I would need to do a total work around to make that happen.
Ok... let me try this, someone goes to post something into my sobi2 directory, the submission form comes up (My custom created chronoform), which requests only specific information which in turns goes directly, as laid out by the form, into the sobi2 posting.

Yes this is possible. You'll find a thread somewhere here talking abotu building custom articles from the submit_content form and what you are doing is very similar.
Basically you'd add code to the OnSubmit Before box to build the variables that you need to save in the SOBI2 tables. What the details are I have no idea.
