Create Chronoform to replace virtuemart registration form

Hi I have an old VirtueMart 1.0.12 on Joomla! 1.0.12 which is getting tons of spam through the virtuemart registration. Tried adding captcha but won't work, so was wanting to do it with Chronoforms. I can't really give access to my clients site as it would be too much of a security risk, since it's an online shop, so am really looking for someone to lead me through, supply code or something. I have used Chronoforms for standard forms so ok with that. Need a quote for client first. The alternative is to upgrade the whole site which will cost them a lot more.

I understand the problem but it's going to be really difficult, the versions of Joomla & ChronoForms are both well out of date (I don't remember the old CF code any more and have never been very experienced with VirtueMart). Some kind of trap in the VM registration ought to be much more practical, this can't be a new problem??

Oh, right. Yes I have tried implementing captcha on the virtuemart registrations but am getting errors and they don't support the old version any more so can't get any help. I think I'll just have to charge the client and upgrade the lot.

I decided to upgrade virtuemart and then added security images from Walter cedric. It's not that hard to upgrade. Takes a while and lots of checking though.
