Hello,
I'm currently using Chrono Forms to allow my users to post information to our site. They may need to later edit that information, which is where Chrono connectivity comes into play. It is up and working, however does not include the same layout with drop down menus, tooltips, and css formatting as the original Chrono Forms. Is there a way to make them look and function the same? A lot of the reason is because we want to force the user to use a dropdown menu so that there are no spelling errors. This way when other users search their information, like location, their information doesn't get lost due to a spelling error.
Thanks,
-Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm not sure what is happening. The usualy way to use edit from ChronoConnectivity is to connect back to the original form or to a copy of it so all the functionality should be there.
Might you have a copy form that doesn't have "Load Chronoforms CSS/JS Files?" set to 'Yes'?

Hello. So, I've kind of fussed with it and it's at least working and looking respectable now. I still don't have the CSS style working, with the tooltips and field validation from the original form, so I just deleted the Tooltips till I figure out why they're not working.
This is where I have left off...
First I went into the Chrono Forms Forms Manager, and selected the Form Code HTML.
Then I pasted the Form Code HTML into the Connections Management / Front Permissions / Record Edit Template section. Lastly, I went back and copied the Forms Manager / Form Code / Java Script and pasted it into the Connections Management / Front Permissions / JSCode section.
This got the Javascript function working.
Yes, the CSS is set to Yes in the General Tab of Forms Manager. I don't see a place to enable it in the Connection Manager.

Hi Dave,
Hmmm . . . the usual way to do this is to use the ChronoForms form (or a copy of the form) to edit or add records. Do you have the latest ChronoConnectivity version - it's quite old now?

Ah. I see. Well, I guess I'm using some older versions. I need to check with my partner before I uninstall and reinstall. We have some custom coding in there that I don't want to lose.
My current version of Chrono Connection is 1.2
My current version of Chrono Contact is 3.1 RC2
I've downloaded the latest versions, and once I get the go-ahead I'll try those versions.
Thanks!

Hi Dave,
I don't remmber if there is an easy upgrade path for ChronoConnectivity. It is possible but do back 'everything' up beforehand.

Hm. Yep, I sorta messed up the site in a couple places with the upgrade to the latest versions.
Front End Permissions don't seem to be allowed, and when I try to select users and user groups to accept front end permissions it gives me a funny message when I click save.
Chrono Connectivity / Connections Management / Front End Settings
Message I get is, "Please enter a connection name in alphabetic characters only or _".
There are some other glitches, but I thought this might be a good place to start. Perhaps I need a fresh install?

Hi davestrand,
The message ""Please enter a connection name in alphabetic characters only or _" is a half helpful, half irritating warning that Max has added in this version. Connection names can only have [a-z][A-Z] or '_' in them, som of your older ones may have numbers, dashes or other characters in them.

This means to specify the form (or a copy if it) in the Record Edit Form field(s), yes?
Then the data in the table, chosen on the TableName(s) field in the General Settings tab, will populate the Record Edit Form, and when you click the 'link' URL in the connection manager, it should open the Record Edit Form displaying data from the table specified assuming that the field names agree and the filters and permissions are set right. Yes?
These steps eliminate the need to paste the form code in the Record Edit Template section, as Dave tried (is that just in an older version?); or in the Body section, as in the FAQs Demo Tutorial, which does not discuss linking any Record Edit Form.
Please let me know if my understanding here has been mistaken, and what else I might try to make it work.
Thanks
