Setup Emails

jupiterGirl 17 Nov, 2009
Hi, I am attempting to setup my form so the results are emailed to a site administrator. As I understand it, you need to setup the email address using the Setup Email process, the form doesnt automatically send an email to site adminstrator when submit is clicked by the user.

I create the form, go to Setup Email, create a new email container, place the fields from the Tools menu in there and add the details (seen in the attached screenshot).

However when I click the Apply button to save the information, nothing happens. It doesnt respond. Even if I click the save button it comes up with 1 disabled email. I have set the emails to enable.

Can you tell me what it could be? I have done the tutorial and checked global config and we can send emails.

Thanks

Tracey

I think you can start by modifying your "from Email" because it needs to be different to the "to" email.
Check your email sending paramaters in joomla general configuration. Try to send message with the "contact" module, if you can't...the problem is not about a chronoform configuration.

Your 'To' and your 'From Email' can be the same. I have this working.

I have found that when you hit the 'Apply' button it seems to look like it does nothing. Even after you hit 'Apply' you still need to 'Save' your form. Also, there seems like there might be a feature where you had other elements on your email template and then removed them, but the form does not know you have removed them, hence the error message re: dynamic elements. I think the only way around this is to delete this email and add a new one with your desired elements?

Have you set "Email the results ?" to 'Yes'? on the main page of the form [post-creation]?

Have you saved/exited your form and then gone back into the form and selected the 'Setup email' tab? Is your email template there?

Hi,

you need to enable the emails in 2 places, at this screen, and under the "general" tab, open the form for editing and under the general tab there is an option for this!
