Hi There,
I am creating a new joomla site on the same server as my old joomla site.
My old joomla site uses chornoforms and I have just installed the latest chronoforms on my new joomla 1.5.
The problem is, I don't really understand the email section of the new chrono forms.
I can't find any documentation about it either?
I have set up a new email and some added some other things like the From name etc etc.
Anyway, when I test my form, I am not recieving the results?
I have made sure email results is turned to yes on the general tab?
Can someone point me in the right direction? I am happy to give my admin details for help.
The reason I mention that I have chronoforms on the server on my old site is to show the server is sending results so its not an SMTP issue or anything like that
TIA

Hi Tia,
Have you checked the Tutorial "3 Adding emails to a form in ChronoForms" available under the Tutorials menu?

Thank you very much for that. I am not sure how I missed this tutorial. I kept reading ones for your older version of chronoform.
I simply needed to enable my email. Thanks

I am having a similar issue of not recieving the email with the form data.
Basically it works sometimes, and sometimes it does not. I have filled out the form dozens of times today testing it to see if it is working, and I am only receiving emails once and while. Less than half of the times that I filled out the form do I actually get an email with the form data.
It was working friday and then I ran into the "session has expirired" issue and I solved that, now I only get emails some of the time.
I've double checked my settings to ensure that the form is enabled and that Email Results is set to YES. When I build the email in the wizard the container turned green when I had the correct fields in place.
I can't think of anything to try. Any help would be great. I use Chronoforms on almost all of my web projects and I really love it. I have never had this much trouble with it working. Ever.
Thanks in advance.

Hi helpfulnerd,
It is very rare for ChronoForms to send some emails but not others. The most likely explanation is that the missing emails are being tagged as spam somewhere en route and are being put in a spam folder or just dropped.
If you haven't already done so I'd suggest that you add a DB Connection to save the form data to a table so that you can go back and check.
Here's an email check list that might be helpful. Please check the following:
a) That 'Send Emails' is set to 'Yes' on the Form General tab
b) That you have a valid Email Setup - if the box is green it's valid, red is invalid (see d below)
c) That you have set 'Enabled' to 'Yes' in the Email Setup Properties box
d) A valid Email Setup requires To, Subject, From Name and From Email elements (or the Dynamic equivalents) in the *same* setup box.
e) The element boxes must contain strings for the static elements or valid input names from the form for the Dynamic elements.
f) The To and From Email boxes must contain valid email addresses
g) The From Email address should match the Domain name.
h) The To email address should not be the same as the From Email address.
I also strongly recommend that you do *not* use the Dynamic From Email element in your Email Setups. Using this often results in your emails being marked as spam and dropped into a spam filter. Instead use the static From Email with an address that matches the site domain name and use Dynamic ReplyTo Email for the user email. The result is the same but with a much better chance of good delivery.
