Sequential Forms

GreyHead 30 Sep, 2009
Hi John2aus,

You can create the separate forms with the Wizard, then link them together with the multi-page plugin.

This is fairly simple but not trivial. Start out with some very simple test forms to find out how it works.

Hi,

I don't know why it seems so hard for me! I did a very simple test and even that did not work!

I am working on the site locally but that should make no difference. I made forms one, two and three all with buttons of different names. The button name in three was End, but the linking did not work.

The debug I got was:

$params: JParameter Object ( [_raw] => debugging=0 onsubmit=before_email stepscount= formsnames= stepsnavigation=0 [_xml] => [_elements] => Array ( ) [_elementPath] => Array ( [0] => C:\xampplite\htdocs\budget\libraries\joomla\html\parameter\element ) [_defaultNameSpace] => _default [_registry] => Array ( [_default] => Array ( [data] => stdClass Object ( [debugging] => 1 [onsubmit] => before_email [stepscount] => 3 [formsnames] => one,two,three [stepsnavigation] => 1 [finalbuttonname] => End ) ) ) [_errors] => Array ( ) )

What seems to be the problem?

Yes, one which SHOULD lead to two when I click the button...which should then lead to three.

The forms are only text and a button (each with different button names).

I am also dealing with this issue. Is there a tutorial for this?

Hi John,

No, there should be another mother form, call it zero or origin or whatever, but one, two, three are the childs and they need a mother and only this mother should have the multi page plugin enabled and configured, please check the plugins forums for Bob's tutorial about this!

Hi Max,

I read through the tutorial and created a 'mother' form, and set up that form with the multipage plug in. However, it still does not work.

The 'mother' form has the plugin enabled and the others do not. I have entered the details as required when I click on the "mother' form link, I just get the mother form; which is a blank form!

What am I doing wrong?

P.S. Did you get my PM Max?

Hi john2aus,

Please post a screenshot of the MultiPage plugin settings. (The main tab I think).

I think there may be some issue with the steps.

Edited.

Hi John,

I suspect that the form names are the problem - please will you change them to step_1 and step_2 both in the forms and the Plugin setup.
