Hi Guys,
I am looking at creating a few large forms (by large forms I mean there will be in total 27 input fields and then headings and text also).
So the best thing I reckon I could do is to stagger the form to make it appear smaller. The problem I have though is that although I know that RC5.5 has the ability to have a multipage form, I cannot figure it out. I cannot find any guides either.
Would someone be able to give me a guide as to how to create one please?
Also the form itself will need to be emailed and not inputted into the database, so to hold the entire form until the submit button is clicked would be a must (as I plan on creating a printable form which is emailed out), but again I do not know if this can be done due to the multiform or motherform side of things.
Many thanks,

Hi Bob,
The thread I got lost in I have to admit :s
The bit im now really confused about is that in order to enable the multipage plugin, you need to select a form, then create more forms ?
So do the contents of the form you put a check in in order to open the multipage configuration automatically show to be filled out as part of the form process.... ?
Additionally after I had configured it I looked at the plugin tab and multipage was not enabled ?
I will have a look again in the multipage thread, but at the moment I am at a loss and confused (but then I am trying to complete several things at once which all need to be done asap lol).
Regards,

Hi HSN,
The Multi-Page plugin is confusing - mostly because you suddently have a whole bunch of forms to deal with. Not something to take on with a deadline pressing !
My preferred approach is to set up a couple of very simple dummy forms with maybe one field and a submit button and a Mother Form for the two of them and then to step through what I need to achieve at a very basic level.
The Plugin needs to be confgured *and* enabled on the Mother Form only. You do need to both configure and enable on the Plugin tab. (This option lets you turn plugins on and off for testing and to change the order of execution.)
The order in which you create the forms is unimportant except that you need to enter the child form names accurately in the Mother Form Plugin configuration.
When you open the Mother form it will automatically display the first child and will save the data between steps.

So Bob,
I get the idea of the mother and child forms. The mother form can remain empty and blank...
So the bits im now thinking about are;
Q1. Do I NEED a db table in order tot save the information from the motherform? If so, is this a manual creation or automatic. If manual how best to create this.
Q2. To email the results of the inputted data do I setup and create the email function on the motherform, or each individual child form ?

Hi HSN,
I think Mother Form in both cases - but the code will not execute until after the last Child Form is submitted.
If you want to save step by step or send intermediate emails then the Child form is the way to go - see the long thread in the Plugins Forum

Hi Bob,
I have created the forms as I believe I needed them.
Motherform
Child 1
Child 2
Child 3
Child 4
After I created the child forms I selected the motherform and clicked ont he multipage link on the left. I set this up and then saved.
I then went into edit the motherform, and enabled the multipage plugin on the plugin tab. I also setup emails on the email tab.
I saved and made sure this form was enabled. (Note from documentation the child forms do not need to be enabled? )
But now when I browse to the form nothing appears...
