Email Problems (Newbie)

keiboy 02 Jul, 2009
I've looked up and down the forums and I must have stopped just before I found it, but I am having a lot of trouble getting chronoforms to work. I've recently registered it and after following the tutorials I've created a form (http://www.menmakers.co.uk/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=BookingForm); and although all seems to work well (the redirect works just fine, the validation messages etc), no emails are sent.

I've checked that all the email buttons are set to "Enabled" and various other things that I read in the forums and the tutorials.
I've also checked that emails can be sent from the site - those work just fine. But still no emails from the form.

I am eager to get this sorted as the client is getting a bit anxious😟 and I still need to sort out PayPal integration.

Hi keiboy,

Please turn ON the debug under the general tab and let me see a screenshot for the debug results which will appear after you submit the form!

Hi keiboy,

looks like you didn't enable the emails correctly, you need to enable it under the general tab, and enable each email at the "Email properties" box!

Darn, you're right.

I started from scratch and forgot to re-enable them.
They're enabled now, but still no email. Here is a screen grab...

Any ideas?

Hi keiboy,

The debug message says that an email has been sent SUCCESSFULLY from kei@example.now to kwesi@example.com. That means that the Joomla mailer has returned a 'Success' message to ChronoForms.

It's a bit hard to read but I don't think that .now is a valid top-level domain. I'd guess that the emails are being dropped or sent to a spam filter somewhere at your ISP.

try to change the mailing method at your joomla global config to SMTP or to play with the from email, try to make it @your domain

Thanks Bob,
I've never had a problem using a made up email address whilst testing before, but that was it🙂
