I was wondering if there are any tutorials or How-to's on how to email the results, or set it up even?
I am using Joomla! 1.5.10 and ChronoForms V3.1 RC 5.0. All I want to accomplish is pretty much a modified contact us form, where they give their email, name, and a bunch other customized fields (check boxes, etc.). Then it will send to my email and I can know what they want.
The Email function the Joomla that you put on an article works fine, but I can't get this to do anything.
Thanks all!
Th3_Dup3
I'm not an expert but I just went through this my self. There are basic tutorials in the downloads area where you downloaded ChronoForms but here is what I did to get my form to email.
Under the Setup Emails tab if you haven't already done this you need to click on the little envelope to insert a new email container. Then drag a minimum of 4* email fields from the toolbox into the email container at which point the border will turn green. Then click on the green border and this will allow you to select Yes next to Enable in the email properties box. Then click the Apply button and save you changes.
Under the General tab be sure that Email the results is set to Yes and Form Method is set to Post. You say your Joomla email is functioning so it should work.

* Added by GreyHead: The 4 fields must include a To, Subject, From Name & From Email (in each case they can be either Static (take a fixed value) or Dynamic (take a form_field name and use the value from the submitted form).
Please follow Kona's instructions, the tutorials can be accessed from the downloads area OR from the tutorials link at the top menu here! http://www.chronoengine.com/tutorials.html

Thanks again,

Please take a sceen shot (or a copy and paste) of the information you see when submitting with Debug on and post it here.
Bob
Data does get saved if I turn that on, but email not working, nor the redirect.
* I just saw I am running 1.5.0. I'll upgrade to 1.5.10 and see what happens...........
Hard to help without any information except 'it doesn't work'.
Have you checked out the Email tutorial from the Tutorials link above?
Bob
I am running Joomla! 1.5.10 now, and I have the most recent Chronoform. The email I set to the email settings for the form are 2 different emails from the web host, and the email box is green and enabled.
but it is not sending an email, or showing a debug.
I have tried re downloading and reinstalling the Chronoforms, still nothing.
If I set an email article in Joomla it can send it, the Contact Us it can send it, and the RSForm Pro can as well too.
Thanks a lot for the continued help, this is a really good community!

Please remove the redirect URL and set the Debug to ON and save the form and retest it and let me know if you see the Debug or not!
just to make sure, is this V3.1 RC5 of Chronoforms ?
Max
I agree with Max - and from what you say I suspect that you have an OnSubmit URL in there which is redirecting the form away from ChronoForms. That would explain why nothing is showing up.
Bob
thanks,

Cheers

Not quite - please click on 'testform' and then the tab marked 'Form URLs'
Bob
I think this is related to the checkToken function, try to test the form while you are logged in ? and please test if your form does anything like saving to database or whatever other than not sending emails ?
Max
Hi th3_dup3,
Not quite - please click on 'testform' and then the tab marked 'Form URLs'
I am having the EXACT same problem as th3_dup3, and i have done the Tuts and i have read this forum and i am seeing conflicts between what i am seeing and what you are talking about.
For instance, the quote above ... Click on testform - which is his form, so i click on my form, then you say click on the 'Form URLs' Tab, i have no where in ChronoForms a tab called Form URLs, i have a Tab called 'Form Code' and that's about it.
I have ran my Debugger and this is the info i get back
should play an important role. Rather than simply ignore the problem, we believe that through awareness comes change.

So what i am seeing is a successfully sent email ... BUT i am still to receive this mail. where am i going wrong, i am running ChronoForms_V3.1_RC5.5
The 'Form URLs' tab no longer exists in the latest ChronoForms releases.
The message "An email has been SENT successfully from (The Enforcer)angels@xxx.org to mousewarrior@yyy.com" means that ChronoForms has passed the email to the Joomla message and has received a 'Success' report back.
The overwhelmingly most likely explanation is that the email is in a spam folder or filter somewhere, or has been marked as spam and dropped. Have you checked your Gmail spam folder?
The second, less likely explanation is that the mailer on your site isn't setup or isn't correcly comfigured. Normally Joomla shows a system message in this case but not all templates show these messages.

1. I have checked GMAIL for spam and they no longer have a spam folder, basically you never see the spam.
2. I am running Community builder and have a form set up there, which when some one fills in the form it sends me a notification, which tells me that Joomla is working fine.
could it be anything else?

Hmmm . . . I think that means you need new glasses😲
would this make any difference if i was running it on a local host?
Have you set a mailerserver up on this machine or are you connecting to an external SMTP server?Bob
I'm going to uninstall community builder on my test joomla site and see it that helps things. Hopefully things didn't get too messed up. I'm pretty sure the problem here is because of community builder though.
It's always possible but plenty of people have CB & ChronoForms running together with no apparent problems. Unless you have changed some meail settings on the site I think it is unlikely that this is the cause.
Bob
Here's what I did to fix it:
I first unpublished the cb login module and published the joomla login module. In community builder/admin/configuration/registration/allow user registration? I chose (same as global "allow registration" site setting). Basically the way it was before community builder started being used.
Then I just went back again. Published the cb login. Unpublished the joomla login. Chose (yes, independently of global site setting).
I first did this on my test site. It worked. I then tried it on my actual site. Worked again. This must reset something in the database. I'm not exactly sure what I did, but I fixed the problem. LOL.
