trying to get my form to read from the contact item or user record of a logged in member and prefill a (or part of) a form.
How is this done?
Thanks in advance,
Adam
Wow! this is difficult!
Couldn't you guys just put something into the forms administration that allow me to check a box and name a field that relates to another name of a field in contacts?
Anyway - that was a wish I just put out there, I don't understand PHP and as such do not know what relates to my needs and what is used for the country selector that this guy is doing.
My contact listing has lots of folders, will this make a difference?
A little more help in the righ direction would be great - absolute novice. My website is <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.plusonenetwork.com">www.plusonenetwork.com</a><!-- w --> if that helps.
Thanks GreyHead
Adam
Hi Adam,
It's not quite as difficult as it looks provided that each member on your site only has one contact ID (and it looks as though they do).
What fields do you want to prefill? If you post those, or a copy of your form code I'll see what can be done.
But I'm off to cut the grass right now.

Hi Bob
I have no idea when it comes to interacting with the back-end, so thanks!
I would like to be a able to pre-fill the information from contacts for each one of the fields that correlates to the field in my forms when I create them.
The fields in Contacts are:
Category:
Linked to User:
Name:
Contact's Position:
E-mail:
Street Address:
Town/Suburb:
State/County:
Country:
Postal Code/ZIP:
Telephone:
Fax:
Miscellaneous Info:
The other thing that I would like to do is give someone the ability to edit their information in contacts once they have logged on.
Regards
Adam Wydeman
Hi Adam,
Just to let you know that I'm looking at this. I'll try and create something that's more than a one-off hack.
