Hi-
I can consistently repeat a problem where the Chronoforms CAPTCHA field fails even when a user enters correct information. I have 4 Joomla 1.5.9 sites all running Chronoforms 3.0 stable. All use the CAPTCHA anti-spam system with fonts. All have worked fine without changes up until recently. When I try filling the forms out with Firefox 3.0.6, the CAPTCHA fails the submission and I get the big red "try again" message. With Firefox 3.0.7, I get a message saying "You are not allowed to access this URL". The forms work fine with IE 7. I'm running WindowsXP with service pack 3.
Three of my sites are on GoDaddy shared hosting (I know, I know, but my clients wanted to save money) and the other is on a dedicated Unix server.
Any suggestions? I really need to enable CAPTCHA to cut down on spam. I have had to disable the imageverification on all of the forms so my clients don't lose sales leads.
Should I update to the latest release candidate?
And also please add my strong vote to getting the Gzip compression bug fixed. Compression really helps my clients using shared hosting and they hate having to turn it on and off to download their submissions into Excel. They are not tech people and it scares them to fiddle with the Joomla admin system.
Thanks for your help and a great product!

Hi vashaka,
I'm using FF 3.0.7 and haven't noticed any particular problems :-(
You might try the ReCaptha work-around if you need captcha on those forms.

Hi vashaka,
can you test with a clean install of Firefox with no addons ? some firefox plugins may make problems ? why its working on IE and not Firefox!! then it should be a client side issue somehow and the code is using PHP only which is a server side one!!
I suggest you wait a few days as a new release candidate will be available which will make it easier to have a reCaptcha plugin for Chronoforms!
regarding the gZip issue, I will PM you some questions.
Regards
Max

Thank you both for your quick response and help. I'll continue to work on the issue. It's hard to troubleshoot since some are on hosted servers and my setup on our dedicated server is unusual (lots of special db and file synchronization between my development and production machines).
Ever find a fix for this issue?
I'm running Joomla 1.5.10,
Component: Chrono Contact 3.0 STABLE 17.09.2008,
Plugin: ChronoContact 0.8/V3.0 Stable 20 Sep 2008
Firefox 3.0.8,
Firefox addons: .Net Framework Assistant 1.0, Java Quick Starter 1.0, FireFTP 1.0.4, DownloadHelper 4.3, CoolPreviews 2.7.3, Firebug 1.3.3
IE7 works with Capcha every time. Firefox will not verify Capcha.

Hi Lexchess,
Fortunately it doesn't come up very often. The 'anti-spam' code key is held in a user session and I can only think that they are not being correctly stored in FireFox. What happens if you look at the user session data?

Hi Lexchess,
a critical fix for this was applied to RC4.11 or maybe the release on labs now, so you need to upgrade and retest, you can move easily from RC4.11 to the next one so its worth upgrading!
Cheers

Can I have also a question? Where are you using those anti-spam?
Is it in forum only?
