Quotation required for Custom Booking Form

alexstan 24 Feb, 2009
Hi Folks,

I have read quite a few of the posts and realise I do not have the skills necessary to create the kind of form I would like for my new website.

My website is http://www.outdoordiscovery.ie
I would like a multi-tabbed form to book the courses that my business runs.

This form should connect to a database to store the data for the person who booked the course

I would like the form to connect to paypal at the end so the customer can pay for the course.

Also I would like to be able to manually add participants to the database using the form but without requiring payment. This is so I can add participants who are unable to pay online and will pay on the day.

I would also like to be able to specify how many places are available for the course and as people book have the spaces reduce in number until full and no more can be booked.

I will be using jcal pro for displaying my courses and would like to interface with this so when someone clicks on an event they will be able to click a button that takes them to the booking page for that course.

Lastly I would like to be able to download the data from the database to a database that I currently use for manageing customers details.
I guess all the tables would need to named the same or something like that.

The form should be layed out soemthing like this
Personal info - Experience - Waiver

Is this possible and how much would it cost?

Cheers
Alex

Hi Alex,

There's quite a bit of work involved in doing this 'properly'. Behind the 'booking form' you have tables for 'courses', 'clients', 'bookings' and possibly PayPal Transactions. You'll probably find that you want some way to administer each of those tables. You also have interfaces with JCal Pro, PayPal and with your external customer interface.

It's all completely possible either using ChronoForms and ChronoConnectivity or as a separate Joomla Extension. But it is quite a lot of work.

Contact me by email - button under my picture - if you want to follow up.

I don't know how busy Max is at the moment, he'll probably reply here, if not send him a message through the Contact Form too.
