problem with url link

r_m 12 Feb, 2009
I am new to chrono forms so please bare with me

I am having a problem with the url link as i can not add the last part of my form url to it so when I load it up on my site it just says there is no form here.
The strange thing is when i click the link i have on the administration page it takes me to my form on my site. Thats the only place i can access it from.

Any advice would be helpful

Thanks

Hi r_m,

Please can you give us an example? What is the 'last part of my form url'?

Bob

This is the full url

index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=OCDe-book

but when i input into a menu on joomla it only goes up to this

index.php?option=com_chronocontact

Hi r-m,

If you use the Menu type ChronoForms then there's a Parameter Box on the right hand side where you can enter the Form Name

Hi r_m,

are you sure that you added the form name at the right side box with no spaces ?

yes i put it into the box that says form name and there is no spaces

Hi r_m,

Please try changing the name of your form to remove the dash - make it OCDe_book

A dash should be OK in a URL but it does cause problems with the database sometimes

Hi r_m,

Scratches head . . . I'm out of ideas . . . I guess that the form *is* published (i know that you said it is but worth asking again).

Can you check the jos_menu table in the database and see what is being written in the link field there?

Bob

sorry to ask this

where is the link field in the form managment
GreyHead 12 Feb, 2009
Hi r_m,

Not in Forms Management - the menu items are written to a database table called jos_menu

Bob
r_m 12 Feb, 2009
It just has the a list of numbers 1 to 20 then another list of numbers list which says record 0 to 19 directly opposite

GreyHead 12 Feb, 2009
Hi r_m,

Err . . . I hope not . . . jos_menu should have about 20 columns

Hi r_m,

Sorry, I don't know where you are looking but that isn't anything like the jos_menu table that I have.

Hi r_m,

We're missing something here - where / how are you looking at this. Here's what mine looks like . . .

Hi bob,

I clicked on the tables connected which says jos_menu in it at the end of my form in form management.

Is that wrong? where should i be looking

Hi r_m,

OK - better to use PHPMyAdmin if you have access, or the EasySQL Joomla extension. Otherwise, click on each of the 'Record 99' entries until you find the ChronoForms one.

Sorry about this but where do i find either myadminphp or the record 99

thanks

Hi r_m,

PHPMyAdmin is the database tool that most webhosts provide - it runs in your browser and allows you to look directly at database tables. It, or something like it, is invaluable in debugging site stuff.

EasySQL is a Joomla extension that does something similar - it's a little more friendly than PHPMyAdmin but not as powerful.

'Record 99' . . . each of the records you listed is a link, click the link and you can see the record data - tedious but it will work.

Bob

PS My screenshot is from MySQL uery Browser which is a kind of desktop equivalent of PHPMyAdmin.

Hi r_m,

OK, thanks - just made sure that we weren't picking up some completely junk entry

Is the site on-line? If it's OK please send me a SuperAdmin logon by pm or email and I'll take a closer look.
