Can't access Chronoforms v 3.0 backend

coendeurloo 07 Feb, 2009
I've installed the stable 3.0 release in Joomla 1.5.9, and all went fine. However, when I want to choose it from the components menu, i get the error: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

I have the same problem in Firefox, though in that error it says something (I have the Dutch version) about a content coding error? and (roughly translated): "The page you want to view can not be displayed because it uses an invalid or non-supported form of compression."

Hi coendeurloo,

I think that the answer is to turn off GZip compression in your site Global Configuration.

That did the job, thanks Bob! Can I enable it again afterwards, or is the Gzip not really that big of a deal?

Hi coendeurloo,

If your site isn't very busy then GZip probably isn't a big deal. If it is a problem then you can always disable GZip while you work on a form then re-enable it afterwards.

Thanks again Bob, our site has about 200-300 unique visitors each day, not really busy I guess😉

Hi,
My server is on Netfirms and they only support Zlib v1.1.3

Will you make compatibility to early Zlib in a near futur?

I don't tink my client will understand to do this procedure before crating a form…

Best regards,
Alain

Hi Alain,

I know that Max is working to find a way around the GZip problem - maybe in the next release.
