how to create advanced search form and query database

ukalyan 28 Jan, 2009
Hi All,

I just started joomla and thought chronoform might be right plugin to help me....but I need you suggestions to see if I am in the right place.

I created a table in joomla database, that has firstname, lastname, address, city and other related field. Now in joomla I need to create a search form that allows user to enter either first name or lastname (or both) and search the database and display all the results.

I am able to create form that firstname text box, last name text box and submit button using chronoform. However I am clueless as to where I should write the code to query the database and display the results in joomla. Basically I need to know for any kind of form, where do I code the logic that needs to be performed after the user submits the form.

Please help me on this one.
