Hi reinterpret,

Please turn on DeBug in the General Tab and tell us what output you see when you submit the form.

Hi reinterpret,

Is that all? No other messages and no dummy email?
Here's an example of a full debug report from ChronoForms v3.0 - the earlier versions didn't have the blue/orange messages at the top.

Hi reinterpret,

Where does "Vielen Dank f眉r Ihre Nachricht" come from? Do you have some OnSubmit code? Or a ReDirect URL?

Do you have at least one Email enabled in the Form Manager list?

Bob

I have tried debuging in FF/IE/Chrome and they all dont show that blue text re the dummy email.
(to be noted that in normal mode, when i submit a form it says successful but I receive no email馃槦 )

My form is running in debug mode now: http://fairpros.rubiksroom.com/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=fpcontact

ideas?
GreyHead 02 Jan, 2009
Hi Buddha,

Which version of ChronoForms are you using?

Bob
GreyHead 02 Jan, 2009
Hi buddah,

Thanks - just checking as the DeBug page looks more like the old CF 2.5 one.

I dont' know what's happening to the messages - they just aren't on the page at all. The messages are displayed with the standard Joomla messaging code so perhaps you have that suppressed somewhere.

Try switching the template back to ja_purity just to check the form and see if you get the messages OK then.

Hi Bhudda,

Hmmm . . . the message says that Joomla has reported back that the email was successfully sent. [list]

    Hey,

I can send mail via the default Joomla contact form perfectly (they arrive after about 4min) so afaik the system/server is correct :/

It is a valid email i xxx'd it to keep privacy up a bit馃榾

and finally i have checked my spam folder but nothing there. Ill try some other addresses after i get back from getting dinner. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

    Thanks for the help greyhead

mmm I've uninstalled the component and redownloaded and installed it. same issue still happens 馃槴

    any more ideas?
    GreyHead 02 Jan, 2009
    Hi Buddah,

It looks as though the component is behaving perfectly, the problem is somewhere in the email transmission path, quite likely after it leaves Joomla. So we're looking at ISP filtering, spam folders, all that stuff.

No more thoughts at the moment . . .

Gery thanks for the help and support

    i have one more question

can i make a form where user can upload a file "video or audio" then creat alink automaticly for the upload?

    Thanks
    GreyHead 08 Jan, 2009
    Hi Eng-shimo,

Yes, you can simply add a file upload field to your form for the first part.

The uploads are stored in the components/com_chromocontact/uploads/form_name folder with a slightly modified name. You can save this field name in the database, or you can move the files elsewhere and rename tham but that takes some special code. I posted a version in he last week.

    Hi Danielaq,

Joomla doesn't support PHP v 4.0 (I think v4.3 is the earliest) - exactly which version do you have?

Please post a copy of the DeBug output from your form - turn DeBug On in the General Tab, temporarily remove any redirect URL, and submit the form.

    Hi Daniela,

Can your site send Emails OK? When new users register for example?

Please also check your spam folder - that's where most missing emails are.

    Bob
    danielaq 21 Mar, 2009
    Hi HeadGray

I didnt configure yet the register, cause i want to see these part work:
    to contact just sendme an email and if the user wants, send some picture too;
and of course a 'Your message was sent..or wahtever'.

I have another needs, like a user registration with some fields (I tried once using
dropdown menu, radio and boxes but just the first option was showed, so i deleted
that form and i started again); and of course (sorry, again..) users can login when
they want to comment some article or want to login to go to the forum, or change
    the profiles..

That is all i need, i readed can i do all with Chronos; i want to do that!!

    If u like to test, you can email to [email]webmaster@skateargentino.com.ar[/email] and i'll reply;
the email is working. Have anything about in the spam folder.

Thanks for ur response, hope can helpme.

    Hi daniela,

I'n not clear what you are saying here.

Have you looked at the Email tutorial from the DownLoads area here?

    Bob

PS The CF Joomla Registration Plugin will let you build custom registration forms.
    danielaq 22 Mar, 2009
haha.. ok, sorry about my english grammar. I'll do my best.

I try to explain again, forget all i comment before.

I need to fix the first issue:
    The contact Form.
The link to the contact form is http://www.skateargentino.com.ar/v09/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=formulario_contacto

If you complete all the fields (excep the one for upload files), and the press SUBMIT, the page that you see after is "Thanks for your message... blablabla".

Till here, everything ok. Its supposed that you send the message and i will receive it. But its not happening: i dont receive any mail with your message.

I dont know what happens.. why the messages dont arrive to my inbox??

I repeat, my email is working, if you like send an email to [email]webmaster@skateargentino.com.ar[/email]

    Thanks.

    Daniela

    Hi admin
I read all twice before posting. In the tutorial say i have to test it with the link, i do that and its no working.

The only thing i think about is i didnt create a table to connect to "CONTACT OPTION", but i think it hasnt
to be a problem now beacuse i just try to send and email with the link form.

If u think i missed something, please mark it to me, i dont pretend the forum solve all my problems,
but i think can show me the way to.

    Hi Daniela,

    All that looks OK.

Can your site send emails? When a new user registers is a validation email sent to them successfully.

This is not about receiving emails but sending them from the site.

    Hi GrayHead!
This last post its only about the contact form problem. I didnt try with the registrarion form yet.

    Hi GreyHead

My spam settings are off (so the junk email can enter too).
The email address (webmaster@....) its the same i use to receive the message for this forum.
I sended test messages to different addres like hotmail, yahoo and other pop accounts..
Would you like to sendme and email to [email]webmaster@example.com.ar[/email], i would reply (i'm not going to send you messages),
    just for test.

As far as I can tell I followed all the instructions and haven't been able to get the form to send emails. I used to before I upgraded to version 3.1. Here is my debug report using Joomla 1.5.9

    * Form passed first SPAM check OK
    * Form passed the submissions limit (if enabled) OK
    * Form passed the Image verification (if enabled) OK
    * Form passed the server side validation (if enabled) OK
    * Form passed the plugins step (if enabled) OK
    * Emails data loaded OK
    * Form passed all before email code evaluation OK
    * An email has been SENT successfully from (My Name)me@email.com to [email]you@email.com[/email]
    * Debug End

    $_POST array: Array ( [golf1_name] => My Name [golf1_email] => [email]me@email.com[/email] [golf2_name] => [golf2_email] => [golf3_name] => [golf3_email] => [golf4_name] => [golf4_email] => [PROD_1golfnum_225] => [PROD_4golfnum_900] => [PROD_bluegolfnum_1000] => [PROD_holesponsornum_200] => [PROD_dinnernum_75] => 1 [PROD_donate_1] => [chrono_verification] => SUDtQ [TOTAL] => [Submit] => Submit [a238c61f223e715e2380982566005af7] => 1 )

    $_FILES array: Array ( )

I used real email addresses not the ones listed here and tried with three different ones. The data is saved successfully to the database table. I've checked my spam folders and still couldn't find any emails.

try to test with a @gmail address, also try to make the from name [email]someone@yourdomain.com[/email], also you may need to change the mail method in the Joomla global config!

Ok, I finally got it working using SMTP as the send method. I'm not sure what changed to make it stop working, but it works now and that is what matters at the moment. Thanks for your help.
