Image upload, Captcha

majid_b 13 Dec, 2008
Hello,

I have downloaded and integrated Chronoforms, two problems that I am facing are:

1. upload file isn't sent as attachment in email
2. if I try to use captcha it doesn't show the image.

Please provide instructions as how to solve these.

Thanks

Hi majid_b,

Do the files get uploaded to the com_chronocontact/upload folder?

Please check the tests on the Anti-Spam tab as they tell you if you have the correct PHP libraries installed. There's also a FAQ that you can check which has another test to try.

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. No, the files are not uploaded in the com_chronocontact upload folder.

2. I can't find tests under the Anti-Spam tab.

Thanks

Hello Bob,

I checked and found out that file upload was disabled, I have set my upload file size to 600KB and it doesn't allow to upload a file sized less than 100KB.

Hi majid_b,

Ok - please check the FAQ on file uploads. There are a couple of things that might be causing you problems.

Your anti-spam tab should look like the image here - does it?

Hi Bob,

There is no sample image showing, rest of it is same as you've shown.

Dear Bob,

I have checked the upload FAQs and I don't think any of those is the problem, the problem is the size of the image, I've added that $mosconfig_fileperms = '0644' in the configuration.php file but that didn't help.

Here is the error that I get when I try to upload the image:

"Sorry, Your uploaded file size exceeds the allowed limit."

Although I have set an image size of 600KB and in the global configuration of Joomla the maximum file size for upload is set to 10000000 bytes that sums up to more than 9MB.

Hi majid_b,

Ok - please post a screen shot of your File Uploads tab so we can double-check the settings.

Thanks, Bob

Hello Bob,

Here is the screen shot of the upload tag:

Thanks

Hi Majid_b,

I think that should be
file_1:jpg|gif|png{600-0}
with '|' (no spaces) instead of commas.

Hello Bob!

Oh, my bad, I figured it out, I was using " , " as separator between image extensions instead of pipe sign.

It is working now. Thank you very much for the help.

I need to know about the captcha though and here is the screen shot for Anti Spam Tag:

Currently it is disabled since I wanted to check the upload file, I'll enable it now since the upload is working.

Thank you very much once again.

Hi majid_b,

Hmmm the Anti-Spam tab *should* be showing a sample image.

Please try 'Without fonts' . . . if that doesn't show an image please try the error-check described in the FAQ.

Hello Bob,

I have done as mentioned in the FAQ section and have got the following error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@rexforhealth.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

--------------------------------------------------------

Can you please give me a hint as how to solve this problem?

Thanks,
Majid

Bob!

Thank you very much for the help.

That problem is resolved now the sample image is now showing.

When captcha was not working I removed the captcha / image verification field from the form and now I want to put it back there, how can I do that?

Hi majid_b,

Thanks :-)

Bob

PS Just back from lunch so missed your earlier post and you've fixed it now. For other readers: I'd probably use the form wizard to create a dummy form with just a Captcha box, then copy and paste the code into my existing form.

Hello, I have this similar problem with the captcha:

I've checked the gd support on my red hat server

and replaced the "Content-type: text/html" in chrono_verification.php (if and else)

with fonts, without fonts, with text, with image, with firefox, with explorer and still nothing... jejejeje

thanks for your help.

Hi jesus,

Try removing the error message - may be the '/' in there is causing some problems with this page. You should get Yes or No answers showing up at least.

I would really like and use ChronoForms whit this security item, thank you very much for all your help

Hi Jesus,

I really have no more ideas, there are more rare issues posted by others here or you can quickly drop a message to your host admin and he will have better ideas!🙂

Hi Jesus,

There's something more fundamental than permissions wrong here. Those messages on the Anti-Spam tab should say Yes or No - they shouldn't be blank. I suspect some fault with the GD installation in your PHP.

Hello Bob and Max, thanks a lot for your comments.

I'll fistfight the server until it works (I don't the expression in English: le voy a caer a piñas al servidor hasta que funcione jejeje)

Thanks.
