AutoFill Filled Out - Validation Now Not Working

jaimeschu 23 Oct, 2008
Hello,
My validation was working very well until I decided to customize the validation text. Before it would say that the autofill can fill in the information. (my autfill had not been previously filled out). I could not see my customized text, so I thought I would fill out my autofill information. Well, once I did, and I tested, none of my feild vailidation will work. Any ideas?

Thx

Hi jaimeschu,

Hard to know as you don't say what the autofill is doing or what validation you had.

My best guess is that you are validating 'required' fields - and once the autofill text is in them they are no longer empty and so validate as complete.

Thanks for the reply, here, I'll try to better explain what's happening:

I created a form and selected with the form wizard what feilds are required, "Name" for example. It seemed as though when the "name" field was not filled in, the default text displayed is "Your Google Toolbar can fill this in for you. Select AutoFill" instead of "Please enter your name" like I wanted.

Previously I had not filled out my Autofill information, so I decided to do that, since maybe if I autofilled my name, then deleted my name, my desired text "Please enter your name" would appear. Did not work out...because now no matter if I autofill or not, none of my required fields display an error message if not filled out.

Make better sense?

Hi jaimeschu,

The Google Toolbar message is coming from the Google Toolbar in your browser - it's nothing to do with Joomla or ChronoForms. Disable autofill in the Toolbar options to get rid of it.

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?
