Cannot Post

Hi ryanbeymer,

This in one for Max I'm afraid. There is a JavaScript error on the page 'this.attachEvent is not a function' linked to some of the images; and there is a NOTAUTH respose to the Ajax posting. Hopefully this will mean nore to him that it does to me.

Hi, this looks like a conflict with mootools, try to unload the whole google maps code from your website and test again, make sure that google maps scripts are not called in the page you will test with!

let me know!

Cheers,
Max

Hi Denis,

The page is loading both JQuery and MooTools - almost certainly there is a JavaScript conflict there somewhere. Actually it looks as though there are two versions of JQuery.

Try unloading the elements that use the JQuery libraries and see if the problem goes away. ChronoForms does use MooTools which is loaded by Joomla 1.5 by default.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick reply but as I am newbie in Joomla I cannot see how I can unload these elements. Actually I don't know which are these elements...😶
Could you see it from my source code, please?
Thanks,

P.S. As I saw the JQuery is loaded from JCE Utilities also. This is the editor I use and I have load the Utilities it has.

Hi Denis,

I don't know much about the inner workings of ChronoComments - perhaps Max can help when he's back.

You can use FireBug in FireFox to start to track the errors. Here's the list of loaded scripts and the error message that I get.

Hi Bob,

I unloaded JQuery and again I cannot post.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Max,

I unloaded it again. Now there is only one Jquery. Please check it. However I think that is not the problem..

Thanks,

Denis

Hi Denis,

You've removed one copy but the second is still there.

Hi Bob,

The other copy is loaded by default from the template. I cannot remove it.
Thanks,

Hi Denis,

If you want to test this - switch the template back to ja_purity and see if the problem is resolved.

Hi Bob,

It works now! But I have to use the Rational Magic template not JA_Purity..😟
How I can do it to work? I like very much ChronoComments..
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Denis

Hi Denis,

OK - now we are clear what the problem is :-)

There's not a great deal that we can do to help. MooTools is the *standard* Joomla 1.5 JavaScript library and is loaded on most pages. If you use features/templates that need JQuery then you are going to run into problems like this sooner or later.

If you need to use both then JQuery has a page here that provides some workarounds for the compatibility issues. Not tested and I have no idea if they will work for you.

Good luck

Hi Max,

Problem solved. I deleted the line which loads the Jquery in my template.
There is only one Jquery (the same version) and till now 🙂 everything is fine.

Thanks for your help.

Denis
