I feel pretty stupid for asking this, but how can I modify a form?

I've downloaded the submitcontent form in the d/l section, but now I need to change it so it's in french. also the message up-top is not to my liking, the terms of agreement are that I have a link at the bottom, not 3 lines up top.

The only place where I've seen something remotely looking like the feild names was in AutoGenerated code where I can see Form feild names as: title,created_by_alias Tried to change them to french but as soon as I save, it reverts.

all the text you can change is at the HTML code box under form code tab, please change text only and not field names like title,created_by_alias,..etc
