CF7 - Locales dictionaries struggle on some special words

iwoxx 02 Feb, 2021
Hi,

built a form with en-GB and de-DE locales dictionaries. Using translation in "No file selected message" of a fileupload field using "{l:_ORDER_NO_FILES_SELECTED_} there leads into with message:

1. "_ORDER_NO_FILES_SELECTED_=No files selected" --- none of the language labels get translated. The placeholders are shown! --> ERROR
2. "_ORDER_NO_FILES_SELECTED_=Please select a file" --- all labels get translated as mentioned! --> OK

A test by reducing the failing string shows:
1. Reduced to "_ORDER_NO_FILES_SELECTED_=No files" --- none of the language label gets translated. The placeholders are shown! --> ERROR
2. Reduced to "_ORDER_NO_FILES_SELECTED_=No" --- all language labels get translated but not the ones of the fileupload fields. The placeholders are shown! --> ERROR

I guess this is a bug!!!

Answer
the quotes should be around the translated string only!

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

Hi Max,

the quotes are only for you to see what I used as the translation string. I do not use them at all. Is that the error?
