errors on IE7 and firefox3

rnomis 28 Aug, 2008
I have been trying to set up a form but am having problems. I appear to be getting different menu items with Firefox3 and IE7. Neither seem to show a complete set of menu items (Firefox is missing the email template section):
IE7:

Firefox3:

I am using Chronoforms V3.0 BETA 2 with Joomla! 1.5.6 Production/Stable.
My server is using:
PHP Built on: Linux ns2.nhgdns.com 2.6.18-53.el5PAE #1 SMP Mon Nov 12 02:55:09 EST 2007 i686

I have some other issues with IE7 when I save at various stages when I get redirected to a blank page but I need to start somewhere.
I hope someone can help

Hi rnomis,

As far as I can see the IE7 version is correct for CF 3.0 (the email template is on the Email Template tab) - and the FireFix version is correct for CF 2.5 (there are no Setup Emails or Email Template tabs).

Is it possible that you have both versions of ChronoForms installed somehow?

Hi rnomis,

I think you have your cache on or please clean your Firefox cache, as Bob said those are 2 different versions, check also that you are at the same URL!

Thanks Guys,
I cleaned the cache as suggested but there is no difference. this was a fresh install and this is the only extension I have installed so far.
When I put the demo code into the template area and click apply, I get the following in the browser window (Firefox3). This also happens when I try to add a form name (which has disappeared since I created it):
\\n\";\r\n exit();\r\n } \r\n if (!$row->store()) {\r\n echo \"\\n\";\r\n exit();\r\n } \r\n }\r\n ?>\r\n ' WHERE id='8''); window.history.go(-1);

With IE7, I just get returned to the Forms Management page and the form name has not been saved,
i am going to uninstall and try reinstalling to see what happens.

Thanks for your help so far,

Simon

Hi Guys,
I have reinstalled but am getting the same results. In Firefox3 whenever I apply changes they take effect but when I save, I get the same line of code. In IE7, the email interface still has different options in the two browsers.

Taking a break before I go completely mad!

Hi Simon,

you still have different interfaces and tabs ? this is mad and funny really, this means that different browsers get different PHP results.

do you have Safari on windows or even Opera ? try it with this one and let me know, I only hope it will not show a new different version!!

keep me posted!

Hi Max,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have installed Safari and as far as I can see, it produces the same results as IE7. I will pm the site details for you to have a look if you want.
Thanks

Hi Simon,

just went in with Firefox 3 and all is fine, I setup an email and tested it, you had <form> tags in your code, this would make problems.

Cheers

Hi Max
Thanks for that. Maybe the two browsers just display differently. A shame you deleted the form as I could have used it a a template :-)
Any chance of sending the code?
Cheers

Hi Simon,

Which form I deleted ? I didn't delete the form itself, I only deleted the form tags inside the code!! your form is still there!

OK, I gave up and installed 2.5 which works perfectly.
With V3.0 I was getting the message: Could not instantiate mail function
I did a search and changed some code but still got errors.
I will wait for the stable version.
Thanks anyway
Simon
