Conflict between ChronoForums and Helix Ultimate Template - Modal Window

MelodyMedia 04 May, 2020
Hi,

I recently downloaded the ChronoForums component and I am currently testing it under localhost. Unfortunately there seem to be conflicts between my template (Helix Ultimate) and the component. My template uses Bootstrap v4.1.0, The conflict seems to exist between my template's bootstrap.min.css and the component's semantic.min.js. The component runs under Joomla! Protostar very well, in connection with my template the modal windows for the search, the file upload, the You-Tube ID and the images do not open in the expected way (the windows are too small or too big and the buttons are covered.)

I've already tried using
.modal {position: relative;}
and
.modal :: before {display: none;}
a little to correct, but with moderate success, It works, but it shoots the layout of my template.

I would like to use the component because I actually like it very much. It is clear, simple and has an attractive design. I'm now looking for a working solution for the component, because I don't want to do without the template under any circumstances. So I would be grateful for a solution. 😀

Christian

Hello Christian,

Actually the conflict with your template may have a different CSS or JS cause, it's not possible to fix without checking it on your page!

Did you try ChronoMyAdmin for managing your Joomla database tables ?

Hi Mark,

thanks for the answer. Unfortunately I am a very impatient person and could not wait. I have therefore dug a little deeper into my pocket and bought a license for EasyDiscuss. The component is also used by Joomshaper, who developed Helix Ultimate - that was the decisive argument for the purchase. So the problem has resolved for me.

I would still recommend that you solve the problems that arise as a result of JavaScript, JQuery, or CSS conflicts with other templates or extensions. (I suspect the current ones are due to different versions of Bootstrap). I think ChronoForums is a very nice component and it would find more users if such problems didn't exist. As a webmaster you usually have enough to do and it is always annoying when you have to spend hours or days dealing with such little things. 😗

Sorry and good luck!

Chris
