[result] => the Mail could not be sent.

deltafidesign 18 Apr, 2017
I have a problem sending emails. The debugger says: [result] => the Mail could not be sent.

The joomla email system correctly send emails (user creation for example, the user receive the email with credentials).

Here is my email action configuration:

Designer Label -> empty
Recipients list -> a gmail email that I check
subject -> filled in
Body -> Di seguito i dati della richiesta:<br> {section/template:one}

Reply email -> empty
Reply name -> a name
From email -> an email with domain as the same of the website
From name -> the name of the sender
CC -> empty
BCC -> filled in with a gmail account

What's could be wrong? What should I check?

Hi deltafidesign,

I had this problem with the first release of CFv6. Have you updated to the current release?

Hi,

Please remove the "Reply name" and the "BCC", then set the from name and from email to the same ones used in the Joomla email, does it work ?

Best regards,
Max

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I've made some tests and found that the issue is relative to the "Reply name" field, if this field is empty the email is correctly sent otherwise not.

Is this a bug?

HI deltafidesign,

I think that both Reply Name and Reply Email are required for the email to be sent, it looks as though you have Reply Email empty.

I have both "Reply email" and "Reply name" empty now and it works fine. E-mail are correctly sent out.

If I fill in the "Reply name" field then the email is not sent.

Hi deltafidesing,

And if you add **both** Reply Name and Reply Email?

Hi Bob, in that case the email is correctly sent out.

Hi deltafidesign ,

So you need to make sure that both are set or neither are set - if you just have one then the email fails.
