Script error when opening and problem saving

seanpod 14 Apr, 2016
Hi there, I have recently been getting a script error when opening my forms in Joomla (on firefox), however the bigger problem is the inability to save as when I click on the save button I am getting an error 404 (category not found).
I don't know why this has started happening as it was working perfectly and I have done quite a lot of work on it, is there any way to sort this out without losing all my work that I've already done?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Seán,

What is the JavaScript error you are getting?

Please check this FAQ

I suggest that you take a backup of the chronoforms table in the satabase for security.

Thanks for the quick response (as usual) GH, the error (as is usual when you wish to see them) didn't show up when I opened the form again. I opened up the debugger in the console and what is showing there is

- Empty string passed to getElementById(). (5 repeats)
- Use of getAttributeNode() is deprecated. Use getAttribute() instead.

What baffles me is that I haven't done anything to this form in ages and was just about to sort out something (which I think I may have to ask you about in another post) and it was working perfectly without errors prior to that.

Sometimes computers really baffle me.

Hi Seán,

I don't think that Max uses getElementById . . . though I may be wrong . . . Is the error linked to the CF code?

I think I'm just going to back up what I've done, reinstall chronoforms and see if that works. There's an error somewhere and I think it may take the both of us a lifetime to find it. Hopefully a fresh install will sort it out. I'll come back to you if it doesn't! Thanks for your help as always
