Image resize for Joomla v2.5

I am using CF4 with J2.5 and would like to use image resize option when the users upload them. The uploaded images are usually very large size from mobile phone cameras, so resizing them (to 800 x 600 pixels) for website use will be good.

I understand Image Resize option is available in CF5, but not sure if it will work with Joomla 2.5 website forms? I cannot upgrade to Joomla 3.5 for technical reasons, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

There is an Image Resize action for CFv4 - check the Utilities action group? If you don't have it then it may have been an add-on action.

I have a upload file size restriction (300k) at the moment - if automatic image resize works, can I remove any file size restriction?
Any guidance/sharing "good practice" will be appreciated.

Hi qamar0786,

I would keep a limit in there that 'big enough'. You will in any case be limited by the max_file_size setting in your PHP settings.
