PayPal Redirect Plugin Suddenly not workind

ksignorello 13 Oct, 2015
Did something change regarding the PayPal plug in? I had the full version working in a V4 form and today it stopped working. It still redirects to PayPal but ends up on the home page not the instant payment page. I think I saw some emails from PayPal saying they were updating their certificate to SHA-256. Could that be the problem? Is there a new plugin available?

Hi Ken,

Nothing has changed about the plug-in apart from the certificate change. That is a server setting and not in ChronoForms - check with your web-host to see if you are up to date.

What is the URL that it ends up on? Have you changed anything else on the site recently that might affect the URLs?

OK I have the answer! Took quite a bit of doing to figure out - naturally because of wrong assumptions.

I had just a wee bit of html in the Item Description: "Entry fee for H2O"

NOT GOOD! Pay Pal does not seem to like this - doesn't say anything and just jumps to the pay pal home page.

Once I did a strip_tags() on the description it started working. This explains the "suddenness". It was the first entry for that item.

Uggg I'll never get those hours back! But onward and upward!

Thanks for being there!

Hi Ken,

Well found - I would not have thought of that in a hurry.
