Chronoforms Functionality/Limits

I guess you can consider this a pre-sales question as I would definitely get the paid version if this is something that's possible with Chronoforms.

I'll just go over what I need to do and, if you could let me know how much of this is possible with Chronoforms, that would be awesome!

1. I need the ability for a visitor to create an account. Then they would need to be able to create sub-accounts (or members for their account). I know I can replace the default Joomla registration with a custom Chronoforms registration, but this is a little more complex than just that. I'm thinking that Joomla itself needs to have some kind of functionality to have sub-levels of user registration, but not 100% sure.

2. The users of these accounts would need to fill out a form, which would then give them a link to a PDF. I know, with TCPDF, Chronoforms can create a PDF. But, not sure about whether it could create a link to a unique URL for this. I'm not 100% sure yet, but I believe the person that accesses the link (which might be a manufacturer, a customer, or the FAA), would need to log in under that original account in order to view the link/PDF.

3. I also need somewhere that the site owner can view a control panel... they need to be able to see all the user data including how many PDFs they've created.

I'm pretty sure that Chronoforms won't be able to handle all of this - especially #3. But I can use something I used before I believe [called content builder] to pull table data from the database for that.

I do know that Chronoforms can handle at least part of my functionality needs. If you have any suggestion as far as other extensions that will work well with Chronoforms to handle things that Chronoforms will not, that would be much appreciated. I've searched and searched the JED, but didn't find much for solutions there.

Thanks!

Hi tim92109,

Yes, ChronoForms can handle all of this - though ChronoConnectivity may be better suited to #3. BUT you will require some planning and quite a bit of custom coding to get the specific results you need.

For example. you will need to work out how you want to handle the sub-accounts. You could use lots of Joomla! User groups or you could set up a separate account table(s) and record the groups and sub-groups and their members there.

Thanks much for the advice, Bob!

I still have some stuff to discuss with the client, but I'll probably use CF for at least some of the functionality I need. Can't afford to buy you a beer this morning, but I did write a good review/rating on the JED at least.
