Form Submit issue

sdwinder 06 Jul, 2009
I am getting that "you are not allowed to access this url" error that a lot of people have been getting ( i searched for it on google) however, i checked my html code and there is no form tag anywhere ( i never modified the code itself) and the weird thing is, that even though i get that url error, the form submit will work on the second try.

For example, if i clear my cache and cookies, the form will not work the first time, but when i try it again, it works fine, but if i again clear my cache and try to do the form and submit, i get the error, I have not seen anyone with this version of the problem, so I decided to make a post, especially since i dont really have any plugins that i used for chronoforms, just the chrono forms itself for joomla 1.5 and thats about it. Anyone know anything about a history/cache related url access error?

Hi swinder,

Looks as though you've replaced the form so I can no longer test. I suspect that this may be a problem with SEF URLs.

Hi eradio,

I just tested in FF 3.5 and IE 6, 7, & 8 with no problems.

Bob,
Well like the other posts you will get this message "You are not allowed to access this URL" upon first attempt, but it never happens again. Should I just change form engines?

Hi Eric,

By all means try another form engine - it's just hard to diagnose a problem that I can't replicate that is only reported by a very few users :-(

You could try turning Use Token to Off in the Form General Tab, or try testing without SEF URLs, either of those might be affecting this.

I dont see the Token control option in my general tab.

Hi Eric,

It was only in the last couple of releases, Upgrading might help this issue. otherwise there are instructions in the forms here to turn the Check Token off by hacking the core code.

Bob

PS The check token was a security check introduced by Joomla fairly early in the 1.5 series, it prevents another user from high-jacking an open form session. Not a very high risk for most sites.

I have tried to upgrade and now I need to revalidate my purchase but I cannot find my original sales ID email?!? How can I reacquire this?
GreyHead 14 Jul, 2009
Hi Eric,

That very definitely isn't working for me on the first - or any other - submission. And I can't see any obvious reason for the failure.

Have you turned off the session token?

Yes I did turn off Token.

Hi Eric,

If it's OK with you please PM or Email me a SuperAdmin login so that I can take a closer look.

Bob,
Thanks for the reply, but I think I have resolved this with a complete deinstall and reinstall versus an upgrade, which you lasted viewed. So far all tests are positive.
Thanks again
Eric

Hi Eric,

Great, glad to hear that it's working now.
