Configuring SMTP for Reliable Email Delivery

To ensure your form created in ChronoForms v8 form builder for Joomla or WordPress sends emails reliably, configure SMTP settings for your hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy or Hostinger). Incorrect SMTP settings can prevent emails from being delivered.

GoDaddy SMTP Setup

For Joomla, configure SMTP in Global Configuration:

  1. Go to System > Global Configuration > Server > Mail Settings.
  2. Set Mailer to SMTP, Host to smtpout.secureserver.net, Port to 587 (TLS), and enter your email credentials.
  3. Test the setup using Joomla’s “Send Test Mail” feature.

For WordPress, use the WP Mail SMTP plugin:

  1. Install and activate WP Mail SMTP.
  2. In WP Mail SMTP settings, enter GoDaddy’s SMTP details (Host: smtpout.secureserver.net, Port: 587, TLS).
  3. Send a test email to verify.

Hostinger SMTP Setup

For Joomla:

  1. In Global Configuration, set Mailer to SMTP, Host to smtp.hostinger.com, Port to 587 (TLS), and add your credentials.
  2. Test email delivery.

For WordPress:

  1. Configure WP Mail SMTP with Hostinger’s settings (Host: smtp.hostinger.com, Port: 587, TLS).
  2. Verify with a test email.

Our Recommendation

We tried both Godaddy and Hostinger and we found that Hostinger business email is the better deal, the package is MUCH cheaper, the admin interface is better, and the service is MUCH betterUse this link to get %20 discount
