A number of issues to solve with ChronoForms5

TagWebsites 02 Jul, 2015
(1) I can't seem to get the menu link 'Page Heading' to show.

(2) After ages of fiddling, I eventually got reCaptcha working but it appears to be doing it's own thing and using Google's old service (version 1), how do I get it using reCaptcha version 2?

(3) Better still, how do I get it to simply use Joomla's native captcha settings?

(4) How do I remove/restyle the bright red asterisks (indicating which fields are required) that are appended to the end of the field labels?

(5) Same for the “This field is required.” tooltip that appears if you focus out of a required field?

Hi TagWebsites,

1. ChronoForms forms don't have 'Titles' in that way - if you want to show a title then you can add one in a Custom Code element at the top of the Designer tab (if you need the full Joomla! titling, then you can use the plug-in to embed the form in an article).

2. Use the Load NoCaptcha and Check NoCaptcha actions in place of the ReCaptcha versions.

3. No idea

4. Remove them with the 'Sign required labels' setting in the HTML (render form) action; restyle them as in this FAQ (also tooltip styling).

5. I don't know, there used to be an option to switch between On Blur + On Submit and On Submit only but it seems to have not made it into CFv5.

Hi mr grayhead,
Maybe i can ask something about the same issue?
On my site i tryd to implement nocaptcha, but i cannot find the nocaptcha in the designer; zo i tried to use the old recaptcha.
in the setup i used nocaptcha, but i get an error: wrong key.
I tried the old key-pair from the old recaptcha, and i tried the new keys witch one belongs to v2 recaptcaha, but there is no way i got it working... (even tryd to use the private key instead of the sitekey, but nothing)
Strange enough: The v1 recaptcha with the old keys are still working.

is it because there is no nocaptcha in the designer?
If not: what can be the problem?
i downloaded and make an upgrade to the last version 5 from your site this morning
(Sorry if my english is not correct: i am dutch)
thanks.

Hi Abel,

You need to get your own keys to use for NoCaptcha. The ones that come with ChronoForms will not work with NoCaptcha.

Sorry. I think i was'nt clear.
of course i generated my own key's on google.
That is why i don't understand.
The error is exactly: wrong site key.
But i am sure i used the generated key pair... (and i tryd to exchange the site key with the secret one and vice versa, also i tried the v1 keys)

HI Abel,

If you are getting a message 'Wrong Site Key' I can only suggest that you double (triple) check the keys.

I think, i hope, that i found the problem; but because i am working on a live site i can not yet test it.
Please, Correct me if i am wrong:
1. the used keys, i am very sure, are correct!
2. I am using the last Joomla version: 3.4.3.
3. In the (new) recaptcha-plugin you can make a choice to version 1 or 2. That one is now version 1.
I think, your program, chronoforms, uses this plugin. ???
That should mean: when I change to version 2, it shoult work. BUT: in that case I have to change all the forms i am using on this moment.
Because in one of my forms in the 'on sucess' event a lot happens: (ie; send email, make PDF and so on) it is not easy to change to a new environment, because I did not found a manner to copy the events to the new situation, and i have to continue this form at least for three weeks.

Is there an other manner to test if i am right, without destroying the form i HAVE to use on this moment (at least till august 2th)?

I buy you a beer, but i want to help you to drink it... ;-)) (the paying name is different)
GreyHead 07 Jul, 2015
Hi Abel,

Thank you for the beer - much appreciated.

ChronoForms doesn’t use the Joomla! Captcha plug-in - there is no connection between the two.

For testing, make a copy of one of your forms and change the name of the copy e.g. contact_test

In the form On Load event add a Load No Captcha actions drag it up before the HTML (render form) action. In the On Submit event add a Check NoCaptcha action and drag it up to the top of the event, drag an Event Loop action into the pink On Fail box.

Open the two actions and set the keys for your domain.

Remove any other Load or Check ReCaptcha actions

Save and test using the View form icon in the form editor.

Hi Bob,
I solved the problem: Indeed there was a problem with the keypair.
Although the keys were good, I cleared them and generated a new pair. After this it works fine!

I had already done what you suggested: I made a blank form containing only the NoCaptcha on load and on submit to testing.
The only thing I feared was that the remaining forms would no longer work . Fortunately it was that fear unfounded.

Thanks for your support and grtz!

Abel

p.s.: I have some other problems with sending PDF's. Can i ask it here or do i have to open a new topic?

Abel.

Hi Abel,

Good to hear that you got it working :-)

Please open a new topic for the pdf question - it just helps me (and other users) see what the topic is that's being discussed.
