Signature pad funky in mobile

cgoodwin 01 Jul, 2015
Hello -
I haven't found any other posts alluding to this issue, but I'm using signature pad for the first time. I have it set up so it works on my site. It works fine on desktop, but I've tried it on multiple iPhones and iPads in both Chrome and Safari and it seems to be getting magnified on mobile. It draws much larger and far away from my finger/stylus. Very off-putting. Is there a way to change the ratio or zoom settings or something? If this is something I should post on GitHub, please let me know (didn't see anything there, either).

I've also tried in multiple templates and that doesn't seem to make a difference.

Link.

Thank you!

Hi cgoodwin,

I think I have seen a version with a displacement like that - I'll dig through my archive and see if there was a fix.

Personally, I much prefer the Signature Pad plug-in (see this FAQ) over the built-in widget.

I just gave the plugin a shot but something about the php code in the html prevented the page from loading at all. When I delete just that the page loads and the signature block loads, but is obviously a little out of whack because the CSS modification is gone. I know just enough to be dangerous with this stuff, so it'll probably be safer if I stick to the widget.
Is there a way to modify meta tag info? Mine shows the initial scale=1, but would setting maximum and minimum scale and scalability to no fix it? I'm just not sure how to do that within Chronoforms (or if it would even help).

Hi cgoodwin,

I found the email exchange from a few months ago - unfortunately we didn't find a fix - the developer switched to the other plug-in from the FAQ.

I experimented with trying to dynamically change the Signature Pad settings - so far with no success.

Hmm. Thanks! I take it this isn't happening to most other users.

Hi cgoodwin,

I've only seen it reported a couple of times - that may just mean that there haven't been many users. My FAQ on using the Bradley Signature Pad library doesn't have this problem as far as I can see (and I prefer the signature images it creates).
