Redirection error

linpi 15 Jan, 2015
I just set up a ChronoForums, 1 category and 2 forums in this category.
Set also a menu entry for this forum (Board Home Page) and get always in the front end in a few second "Error: Redirection error"
I already search in this forums for similar questions but didn't find a answer.
I controlled the permissions and set for Display/Access, Gest/Public on allowed to be sure to see something.
But I still get "Error: Redirection error"
What else could it be ?

Redirection error is caused by permissions. Double check them.

Hi,

A late reply here, as "CliosportOC" has noted, this is most probably a permissions configuration issue, you should also keep the "Redirect to login" page setting disabled under the "Settings" area until you get the permissions setup right.

Hi
actually, after the previous answer, I went again on the permissions setup and made everything allowed. Now the forums is showing.
But of course, I have to put some restrictions again, since this forum will be allowed only for registered users.
I few weeks, I will make more tests and write back again what I found out (and them I will put the green button)
I guess it was a bit confusing that after a fresh install of ChronoForums it didn't work, even before I could make too many mistakes... ;-)
best regards, Pierre

Hi,

the permissions for a registered User work know:

I had to set
Public and Guest to "Not Set",
Manager, Registered, Super Users & Owner to "Allowed",
the rest to "Inherited".

Best regards, Pierre

Thanks for sharing this, the next update should have some pre-configured permissions which should hopefully help!
