I wander why I have missed validation tab which normally shows in Designer. I have checked in all samples and in none of them is anymore available the validation tab.
I posted here, rather then in bug section, as I am sure it has something to do with my wrong approach somewhere.

Maybe some error or JavaScript conflict on the admin page? I've occasionally seen those - though not where just the validation tab is missing :-(
By all means email or PM me the site URL, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi Bob, thank you for your reply.
I must admit to being a little embarrassed but the problem was caused by a small change of color in a css front end that "colored" white also the tab "validation", next to the "general" tab in the back end, so was no longer visible.
Anyway I wrote in my first post that surely the problem was due to my wrong approach. I'm sorry for the loss of time
