Two form: JS validation only works on last.

jj135 13 Mar, 2014
Hi!

I have two forms on one page. Both have fields that have js validation. But this only works on the second form on the page. The first form skips the js validation and falls back on the serverside validation. When I switch the form position in the template the other form that worked doesn't anymore, but the other does. So I guess js validation only works on the second form in the template.

Is there a way to get js validation working on both forms? I tired setting boh forms 'Relative URL' to 'no' but that did not solve this.

Thanks!

I also noticed that the red required asterix/star are only shown on the last form, not the first. When I turn the second form (module) off it works fine on the first.

Both forms are Chronoforms modules.

Hi jj135,

Is this v5 RC4.1 ? this bug has existed in an earlier version, but it should be fixed in the latest update.

I downloaded the latest version of the component and plugin and installed them, just to make sure. But no changes.

I investigated some more and found out that this only happens when I place the two forms in seperate module positions. When I put them in the same module position it works OK. Does that help in finding a possible solution?

So you have both forms in modules ? or one in module and one in page body ?

What's your browser ?

I tested here with 2 forms in right module position (1 position) and viewed one form using the "frontend view" link, the validation works fine in all the 3 forms!

Could you please run this test ?

Hi Max,

I have two forms, both in separate module positions. No form in the page body. Both are in the website footer, but not in the same module position. When I put them together in one module position it works fine. But when I use the two forms in seperate module positions the validation on the first form does not work.

I tested this in IE, Firefox and Chrome. I also tired in in a default Joomla template (Beez). Same problem...

Hoi Max. Thanks for that. Do I need to download and install the component en module to get the fix? Or do you have a patch file? Thanks.

You will need the new release, I'm planning to publish it today hopefully!
