DateTimePicker - Cannot click on year to select years

LeoP 11 Apr, 2013
Hi everyone.

I am very impressed with ChronoForms so far; Far superior to other form components I have previously tried.

I have my first form now set up. Emails working - populating a custom coded html email, which delivers the form to our quotes team so they can cut and paste the submitted data into our Dynamics NAV system.

I have one unsolved issue: I can see that the DateTimePicker has an option to click into the year to move more quickly to a date further in the future. However, as soon as I view the completed form, this is no longer an option. I can just click on the date with no result, as if the link has been broken.

Also, I actually prefer the default styling before my site's CSS get's hold of it! Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

For info: Our site is built in Joomla 1.5 and installed Chronoforms v3.2.0

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Leo

Hi Leo,

Please post a link to the form so I can take a quick look. This sounds like a JavaScript problem.

Bob

PS You should probably upgrade to the latest release of CFv3 as there were some bug fixes.

Hi LeoP,

I think that the problem is that the Aeron Calendar used in CFv3 doesn't' support a year picker in the same way as the Calendar's in CFv4 (though it's a long time since I worked with it). I had a dig round the Aeron docs and found the Navigation option 2 which might do what you need:

navigation - An integer–0, 1 or 2–indicating which navigation method the class will use: traditional navigation (1) where left and right arrows allow the user to navigate by month (default); improved navigation (2) where the user can navigate by month or year; and static navigation (0) which is actually no navigation at all.

To see it in action go to the Docs and in the Features section click 'Future / past calendar restrictions (and more)' then the first example.

Thanks Bob, that was helpful. Now I just need to work out why the month / year navigation buttons drop to below the month / year (check the link I PMed you if you are interested to see the error). I'll check alignments in CSS...

By the way: Is there any reason why I can't upgrade to V4 that you are aware of? I believe there is a version compatible with Joomla 1.5

Thanks again,

Leo

Hi Leo,

Please see this FAQ about upgrading - I'd probably leave it until you come to move the site to Joomla! 2.5+ or you have some other pressing need.

The calendar arrows are pretty clearly a CSS problem but - from a quick poke around I don't see which bit of the CSS it is :-(
