Error message: trim ()...

arvendal 17 Nov, 2012
Hi,

I am developing a website that uses Chronoforms. After I added a Captcha function this error message starts to display:

Warning: trim() expects parameter 1 to be string

The Joomla version is 2.5.8.

Does anyone know what to do about it?

Hi arvendal,

If you set Error Reporting to System Default or null in your Site Global Configuration you will hide PHP Warnings like this.

If you post the whole message, including the source file and line number, I can take a look and see if there is an easy fix.

Thanks!
Everything seems to work now as long as I view the forms via Chronoforms control panel link "Frontend view" or the toolbar icon "Test form" in Wizard Edit. But when I try to display the forms via your plugin or module on a webpage there's only the line "Powered By ChronoForms - ChronoEngine.com" that's displayed. See attached file where the line above generates from the plugin and the line below generates from the moudle. This is on a website with Joomla 2.5.8

I have a Joomla 2.5.7 where everything works. The forms are displayed via both the plugin and module.

I posted another question about this yesterday. Is there any problem with the new version of Joomla or what may cause this trouble?

Hi arvendal,

I don't see any problems on my test site with 2.5.8

Please post a link to the page with the problem so I can take a quick look.

I have sent the URL with login information to you via your contact form at your website.

Thanks!

Hi,

I recieved this message when I used your contact form: "You are not allowed to access this URL"

But instead I'll do as you proposed.

OK. I saw some other strange behaviour on this webpage: the expandable menu to the right "Nätugåvan" doesn't work here (it expands all item at once), but it does work on all other pages. I also tested to insert a form via plugin on URL http://j25cl.arvendal.se/index.php/tidningen/koep-tidningen where it suddenly works albeit the extension that creates the tabs are the same one. I wonder if the expandable menu extension - DJ-MultiTree Menu - is causing the problem?
I used the tab extension on my previous website where all my chronoforms works.

This must have to do with some kind of unlucky combination of extensions. Maybe I ought to strip down them one by one to see if that makes any difference?

I am pretty convinced now that the problem has its origin in the combination of extensions. I'll check out which one is the culprit.
Thanks for your effort and valuable help!
