CAPTCHA Always Wrong?

mohsho 06 Nov, 2012
Works fine on my Mac - Safari & FireFox. Won't work on any browser on my Windows machine (a mac running windows). Tried IE 7/8/9, Firefox and Chrome.

This is a custom form copied from old site. Unfortunately, this is a live site. Help please!

Are you running any kind of script or add blockers that could be interfering?

Now I can't get past the CAPTCHA on my Mac either? Don't think I'm running anything that could be causing a problem.

Is there any kind of IP checking? Like I've submitted the form so many times, that now my my IP is blocked?

How did you setup the captcha check ? did you use the easy wizard or advanced wizard ?

I guess I used the advanced wizard. I copied and pasted an existing form into the code box and then I used whatever wizard you get when you click on "Wizard edit" in the Forms Manager. Thanks - in advance. I appreciate any tips you might be able to give me.

Does anyone have a quick suggestion on this on for me?
Nuvelle 08 Nov, 2012
Start a new form from the beginning and try again. It shouldn't take as long as you know what to put where.

I had a problem with one of my forms I made and no amount of debugging would tell me what was going on.
I started again fresh and it just worked first time!

Hi moonsho,

The image looks OK though the Check Captcha action should sensibly be the first one.

Please check the FAQs for the detailed settings.

Finally figured it out. I saw that the CAPTCHA always worked when I clicked on Frontend view or Test Form, but didn't work when I clicked on the main menu link. Earlier, I had tested turning off all of the modules on the form page, but I forgot that the top banner was a module - duh. And that turned out to be the module that was causing the problem with the CAPTCHA. Thank you for your suggestions.

FYI - The module is JoomlaShack's Shackslides.
