form not validating in prettyphoto lightbox gallery

glazebro 19 Oct, 2012
Good Morning,

Believe me I have searched for my topic and have not found anyone with exactly the same issue as me, and this may be a bug with the program I am not sure.

Anyway I am unable to get my form to validate in prettyphoto jquery slider. I have read a bunch of posts about making sure I am in no conflict mode and I believe that I am. When I look in my console in chrome the only thing that is popping up at this point is this message:

"Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains."

I have to think this is the reason why it is not working. The url to the form I am working on is this: http://joomlawork.glazefolio.com/index.php/member-modules#prettyPhoto[inline3]/2/
Click on DATABASE TEST link and go to slide #3 to see example🙂

I am in need of assistance on this. The only way I have been able to get it to work is to make a separate page and iframe it in but that is not preferable.

Is there anyway to put my form in this platform ({chronoforms}test_05{/chronoforms}) and make it work correctly? or will I be using the iframe method?

The only reason that I don't want to use the iframe method is that this page will be password protected eventually and as you know someone who knows what they are doing could access the iframe src without the pw. It isn't the end of the world if that is what I have to do though.

Also I should add that I am exploring this product for the company that I work for. I always start with a free version if it is available so that I can present it to my boss. Then it is a possibility that we may purchase a product if need be.

One last question a bit off of this particular topic. Is there a good way to take the form data and make a nice looking data report for someone that subscribes to my site/product? I know there are csv exports but those are not very clean. If you have an answer to this great if not no big deal.

Thanks in advance!

Hi glazebro,

As far as I can see the validation code isn't being called at all, so my best guess is that some other script high-jacks the submit event. If I add a breakpoint in the formcheck-yiu.js file it is called when I access the form directly but not when it's in the slider.

The error message that you see appears to be be from Oauth so probably isn't causing this problem. But I have no idea what is :-(

To output data Max has a beta version of a PDF action that you can get if you ask him through the Contact Us page; there's also a FAQ on adding a print-me button if that helps - that code could also be adapted to create a Word document (using HTML).

May be time to consider using a different slider I think. Seems like everything I try to do breaks this one. Thanks for the feedback.

I may just stick with the iframe method as it should work just fine and the form itself is not really what I care to be password protected anyway. It just would have been nice to keep it all in the same place.
