How to configure datepicker?

I want to set some things in datepicker:
- If obtain time or only just
- Can I ask only for the year? or month and year?
- How to change the colors?

To start with please see this post and the following one for some changes if you use the MooTools version of the DatePicker (which I recommend you do if you are using Joomla! 2.5).
