Admin Access Error

njt 25 May, 2012
Hi there,

I have a problem as I cannot access the admin part of ChronoForms Component. My form is working fine, but I have no way to edit it, as the following error occurs:
"
Warning: require_once(/home/scoutsca/public_html/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/versions/j2.5/admin.chronoforms.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/scoutsca/public_html/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/admin.chronoforms.php on line 15

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/scoutsca/public_html/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/versions/j2.5/admin.chronoforms.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/scoutsca/public_html/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/admin.chronoforms.php on line 15
"

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I think I need to update the component, but don't want to delete my form - it was quite a bit of work!

Is there perhaps a way I can save the form file from the server then reinstall the component and restore the form?

Thanks

njt

Hi njt ,

it sounds as though you have an older version of ChronoForms built for Joomla! 1.6 or 1.7 and you are running Joomla! 2.5.

You should be able to upgrade the component OK without uninstalling. But for safety you can take a database backup first.

Thanks Bob. Will try an upgrade - is this through the extension manager install? If you could point me to the correct package, I would be very grateful!

Also, you say back up the database first - how would you recommend doing that? I'm not too familiar with working with databases, I have to admit.

Thanks again.

Hi njt,

Which version of ChronoForms are you using?
You can find the version from Site Admin | Extensions | Extension Manager | Manage in Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5.

You can get the latest version CFv4 RC3.3 from the download link above.

To backup your database tables you need to use PHPMyAdmin or to install one of the Joomla! Backup components. Akeeba Backup is nice but does more than you need here.
