Dynamic Settings to create Auto Response email to subscriber

skatmanm 11 Apr, 2012
Hi Chrono-Forms:

I have an email address set up on my server which sends back an auto-response "Thank you for subscribing to our website...etc."

I need to send the email to that address every time and have the from Name and Email be dynamic.

When I am in the ADMIN setting up the email On Submit actions, it asks for a dynamic fields which is the email and name fields. The "To" fields for email and subject are fixed - as they are the auto-response email. Do I fill in info under both the Dynamic and static TABS or do I have to work under the Dynamic tab only, and create hidden fields with info for the static information?

Bottom line is I can not see to get this easy concept to work - I'm sure I'm missing something basic...

Thanks for a great product!

Hi Dave,

If you are sending to the user who submitted the form and according to your comments, you may have everything under the "Dynamic" tab, except the subject maybe ? unless you want it dynamic too.

however, having a dynamic from name/email may cause problems with some ISPs and your message may be marked as SPAM and may get blocked, you may replace that with the dynamic "reply to" name/email, you should do some experiments.

I control my mail server. I need reply to work. I got an app I made and I want to respond to the apps as they come in, but since the email comes from myself. When i click reply im replying to myself... I cant figure out how to get the reply to in dynamic configured correctly. I've spent like 12 hours trying with no luck.
