I love this extension and this is in no way a criticism. I offer it in the hope that others will benefit and that it helps the developer.
I created a form with one table where users could enter data. I wanted to download the data and use it as input to a Word mailmerge.
I tried the download in both formats: csv and Excel. In both cases, some rows were corrupted. I was able to find that in the corrupted rows, the user had pressed the "Enter" key several times. Removing those "Enters" cleaned up the file for those rows.
As a workaround, I used the SQL2Excel extension by Joomla-R-Us to download the same table. It worked without the corruption.
As I said, I still think this is a great extension. I have gotten used to the navigation in V4 and I bought the book for the previous version. Thank you for a great extension.

Hi hcharris,
Just for clarity, you are posting in the CFv4 forum but I think you are talking about CFv3? CFv4 doesn't have an Excel export - only CSV. It also has settings for optional separators and quotes which may get round this problem.
