Hello all,
I'm getting a "Could not instantiate mail function." error when using a form on my site. The odd thing is that it only occurs when the form is embedded in an article. It works fine when I preview it via the frontend View link. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks!
Hi Jedwards09,
Hmm . . I haven't seen this reported before and I can't work out why it would happen. To get that error the form must have submitted successfully at leat to the point of sending the email.
The message itself can be misleading, you can also get it if there is information missing from the email command (no 'To email' address for example).
Which version of ChronoForms are you using? You can find the version from Site Admin | Extensions | Install/Uninstall | Components in Joomla! 1.5 or Site Admin | Extensions | Extension Manager | Manage in Joomla! 1.6.

I'm using Joomla 1.5.23 with ChronoForms version 4.0 RC1.9.
I was able to recreate my article page by adding a header to the form, so I'm able to proceed with my project. However, I'm puzzled as to why I only get the error when the form is embedded in an article, but works fine if I link to the form itself. Let me know if you need admin access to my site to troubleshoot this error.
Thank you so much for your quick reply regarding this matter.
