Old Data in New Record Creation

skidd 08 Jun, 2011
Hello,

I am experiencing a very weird issue with one of my users.

1. After successful login user clicks {New Record} and the new record creation form opens with another records data. If you edit and submit the form updates that old record, so essentially this user cannot create new records.
2. No account modifications have been made and the user worked fine previously.
3. All Joomla! cache's have been cleared (to my knowledge) and all browser cache have been cleared.
4. Happens on multiple browsers and multiple computers.

I am puzzled, I can message two login/pw - one that does not do it and the one that does.

Thank you in advance for your help, I love Chrono products!!

Hi skidd,

Definitely odd.

By all means email or PM me the site URL, the mystery log-in, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi skidd,

I've had a quick look and I can't see what is causing this. Not something I've seen before but I don't often use the built-in links.

I've put in a workaround for the New Record. You'll see two New Record links now, the first of them is a direct link to the form which opens blank. I've added a ReDirect URL to the form so that it returns back to the CC Listing when it is submitted. You will probably need to tweak these settings so that it works exactly the way that you want but the basic idea should be OK.

Hmmm...very weird, now if I press either link and fill out the form nothing gets saved to the DB, having to enter records in manually through phpMyAdmin right now.

Hi skidd,

None of your forms have DB Connections set up so they won't save to the database.

Hello,

I just wanted to follow up on this issue. We are still experiencing it despite activating the DB Connection to "YES" and selecting the corresponding table.

I am going to send you the user/pass in case you wanted to take a look. Currently as a workaround here are my results:

WORKS - http://register.eventcomplete.com/index.php?option=com_chronocontact&chronoformname=workshop_edit (works but does not save all fields to the database, requires us to enter each record twice to get all info saved)

DOES NOT WORK - http://register.eventcomplete.com/index.php?option=com_chronoconnectivity&connectionname=WorkshopDates&task=newrecord&Itemid=7 (Results in a random row in the table being pulled and populated in the form)

What is peculiar is that the random populating of the {new_record} chrono-generated link errors are tied to username?!??!! One of my users experiences the issue on multiple machines and I don't experience under my admin account, but I create a new account that is a super admin and the issue is there.
