Upgrade: 3.1 RC5.5 TO J1.5_V4_RC1.8

Have a question....

I am upgrading from 3.1 RC5.5 TO J1.5_V4_RC1.8 on one of my sites.

Is this upgrade seamless - or will I have to rebuild my forms?

Hi Cb1,

It's not seamless, there is no automatic upgrade. You can copy and paste over code blocks and then set up the 'extra features' but IMHO it might be simpler in the long term to recreate the forms from scratch as there are small changes in the CSS classes and the HTML layout that are fiddly to fix by hand.

Thanks Bob - that's what I thought. Sometimes I get so inundated with tasks - I forget what to do between one version on a software and another.

CAN I install them side by side?

You can install them side by side - but you can't use them side by side without flipping the MooTools Upgrade plugin. CFv4 requires it enabled and CFv3 requires it disabled.

That's fine. Site is not live yet - I just don't want to have to copy the code - put it somewhere, then paste it back in. This will make it easier.

Now that I've gotten more used to the new version - I really like it. The interface was a change for the better.
