i just want to ask something how can i use chronoform v4 to my joomla1.5.22, i have install it then when i was trying to use it. i cannot create a form..its just not working.. i read on the download section about mootools 1.2. but den i dont know how to use mootools and where to download the version 1.2. because they have their version 1.3... can somebody help me.. thank alot...
Just go under the Joomla Plugins manager and enable the "Mootools upgrade" plugin there, then you should be able to use V4 on J1.5.x
Regards,
Max
thanks for the fast response.. i have just done enabling the mootools upgrade. thanks alot for the help... more power..
btw about the other post.. sorry for the wrong thread....
For me I cannot create a form the whole area is grayed out. If I attempt to drag anything the text is highlighted and the drag area is grayed out. Furthermore the tabs do not work. It is the same story if I try to create a form from Form Manager. I can fill in the fields but when it comes to save or apply there is no action.
This occurs no matter if I have the latest version of V3 installed or not.
Regards
Ian
Which browser are you using? There is a known problem with IE9 - other browsers seem to be OK.
Bob
I've tried it with IE 8, Goole Chrome 10.0.648.204 and FF 4. In each case when I attempt to drag one of the elements over I highlight the text as if to copy the text also the drop area is grayed out.
I've cleared out the cache, disabled adblocker and web tools in Chrome and FF 4.

It sounds as though there may be a conflict with something else on the site.
By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

I've just emailed you as requested. There's a problem with the MooTools version in the admin area.
Bob
No, no hacks were carried out on the site. I presume you are referring to the pdf file ChronoForms and MooTools 1.2?
I've upgraded to 1.5.23 so mootools is now 1.2.5.
Should I implement this hack?
Regards
Ian
No, you shouldn't implement the hack.
Is ChronoForms now working after the upgrade?
Bob
The drop area is grayed out.

The problem is the same. The MooTools Upgrade Plug-in isn't working. Everywhere I look on the site - front-end and back is loading MooTools 1.1.12
I've dug around a little and can't see any obvious reason why it isn't working :-(

Unfortunately no; I'd probably go into the code and add debug messages to track what is happening.
One quick test to try would be to switch to one of the default templates temporarily. If the plug-in then works you'd know that something was amiss in the template.
Bob
I have set beez as the default template (custom template is based on this only graphics has changed).
I logged out and logged back in. Still the issue persists.
I am using another forms program smart former as there is a form on the landing page to gather names and address for catalogs.
Could this be interfering with ChronoForms?
Best Regards
Ian
Thanks for trying the template.
It's possible but unlikely that Smart Former is causing the problem. It's an odd site problem that affects ChronoForms (and anything else that needs MooTools 1.2) :-(
Really hard to know what else to suggest other than a head-down debugging session.
Bob
Ok lets scrub the hands, roll up the sleeves, put on the face masks and get stuck in. Please be aware though there maybe a delay before I can implement any code debug.

I've just installed Chrono Forms V4 on my Joomla 1.5.22. Mootools upgrade is enabled and is showing version 1.2.4.

First, Thank you for this great component.
I had exact the same problem as Ian, i had to disable all 3rd party plugins and tried to enable one by one and i found it's an admin plugin conflicts with Chronoforms v4. In my case it was the " Button - JA Typography" that made by Joomlart for their templates. As long as i disable this plugin, the Chronoforms v4 -(Form wizard) drag and drop - works just fine!
Afraid it's not that :-(. The template I am using is based on the template shipped with Joomla.
The only changes were the graphics and renaming of ini template files.
Just to make sure I did a search for buttom in plugins and disable them just to be sure. The results are the same I cannot drop elements into the Drop area.
Furthermore I noticed that part of the Components menu is clipped when one lists the menu items.
any news regarding possible debug I can add to identify what is causing the issue
Below is the list of components
Access Key -> Installed after reporting the issue
Banner
Chrono Forms
Admin Tools
Akeeba Backup
Kunena Forum
Contacts
Mobile Joomla
News feeds
Polls
Search
Smarter Former -> Installed because of current Chrono issue
Update Manager
Web Links
Why not trying to start from a fresh install with Chronoforms installed. Make sure it's working, then install your plugins, components, and addons one-by-one and test Chronoforms after each install until you find which one conflicts with Chronoforms.
