Is the newest Chronoform V4 compatible with Joomla 1.6?

The code may be; the installer almost certainly isn't - though I haven't tested yet.

PS CF4 v1.1 has a bug that breaks the wizard. I'd wait for the next release - or I've just got a provisional fix from Max.

Hi, well I just installed Joomla! 1.6 and tried chronoforms v4 and 3.2! I'am sorry to say they do not work I get some kind of fatal error when I click the chronoforms tab in the administrator panel. I sent you an email through your contact form in regards to this issue with all the info from the fatal error.

No big surprise - Max hasn't released a version of ChronoForms for Joomla! 1.6. It does say in the Downloads area that these are Joomla! 1.5 versions.

As a subscriber to the wonderful Chronoforms and as I am in the middle of building a new 1.6 site, I would really like to know what the plans are for any future releases.

I would hope that Chronoforms will continue to develop for new versions of Joomla for its subscribers (not bothered about the free users!) and would appreciate if you have any news when a release is pending.

An honest answer is all I need, PM me if you want but I will shortly need a solution which I hope doesn't mean buying another product....

I moved this over here to the ChronoForms 4 forum.

You'll see that Max is planning another RC release of ChronoForms v4 in teh next few days and has said that he will release a Joomal 1.6 version when that is stable.

There's also a locked thread here where I've posted some notes on my unofficial experiment in running CFv4 on Joomla! 1.6

Sounds good Bob, I have a couple of weeks work sorting out other matters with this Joomla 1.6 site! In some ways I wish I had developed in 1.5 but I am too far down the road to turn back, and when it comes to the forms I would prefer to stick with what I know even if it is the new new V4 version....

I just want a simple contact form at the bottom of each item, nothing special....

Look forward to hearing of some progress!

I'm as certain as I can be that Max doesn't intend to port the old CFv3 to Joomla 1.6. The work involved in getting the Wizard to work with MooToola 1.2/3 just isn't worth the effort :-(

So the new new CFv4 it will be.

No official news I'm afraid. I do have CFv4 RC1.4 running on Joomla! 1.6 - see this post

...and it generates the page titles in the received mail as normal.
