Problem with Forms Manager

sonjam 23 Oct, 2010
Hi guys

Maybe there was a problem with my install (however no error reported), the chronoform looks great, I can build a form in the wizzard, but after the 4 steps when the Form manager is displayed, I can choose to select my new form from the list, but it loads without the top naviagion. All it displays is the form name, and the tabs with info. I can complete the info, but cannot save it, as there is no buttons?

Please help!😢

Hi sonjam,

You probably have the MooTools Upgrade Plugin enabled. This is an optional plug-in that enables the MooTools 1.2 library on your site.

ChronoForms (and many other Joomla! extensions) use the MooTools 1.1.2 library that is installed by default. The ChronoForms Wizard, and other back-end code will not run with the plugin enabled.

If you disable the plug-in then ChronoForms should run correctly.

Hi Bob

Thanks, but I checked it is there, but not enabled. I get the feeling the forms manager loads like a frame without the header? See image: Problem with Forms Manager image 1. Im using Joomla 1.5.20

Hi sonjam,

Yes, that what is happening but I don't know why :-(

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi sonjam,

I've takean a look and I'm still not sure why this is happening. I've not seen this behaviour before. I suspect it may be linked to ChronoForms' use of index2.php in the Admin URLs. The index2.php URLs should redirect to index.php in the Admin area but possiby this is not happening on your site.

We saw something similar a week or two back - in that case the admin index2.php URLs redirected to the front-end of the site.

That user simply used s search and replace on the ChronoForms admin files to replace index2.php with index.php. Otherwise you could just right click on the Title links and open them in a new tab/window, a bit messy but they seem to work OK.

In an old thread on a similar issue Fredrik (nml375) looked a the possibility that this is caused by mod_security settings in the server setup. That, or something like it, is probably at the root as it only shows up rarely.
