Submit button doesn't do anything

zebacalhau 07 Aug, 2010
Hi all,

I am a Chronoforms rookie, trying to do something (i think) simple: no emails, no new tables, no validations, no nothing involved except one thing - open one record in an existing table, modify the data and update the new information.

I read all the tutorials, tryed all different possibilities, created the form, but nothing happens. All the information in the manuals says to create a new table, but i don't want that. Its simply an existing table without the required fields by Choronoforms.

Is this a problem with the device between the chair and the keyboard? Can you help me, linking to a tutorial showins the connection with an existing table?

Best regards from Azores Islands

Hi zebacalhau,

I'd do this using the Profile Plugin in 'Edit' mode.

Sorry GreyHead didn't work... 😟

Saying in other words, does a Chronoform form require an extra PHP code in order to connect to a database?

Hi zebacalhau,

Well, no - it does work if you set it all up correctly. No other PHP is required.

Hard to say anything more from the info you've posted.

I have the same problem and is driving me crazy I need badly some help in the form of advice,
I have the last version of chronoforms and joomla 1.5.20

I tried the following steps in multiple combination the last 3 days
it acts like if the mail was sent with no errors but does nothing (I tried with diferent email addresses and don't go to the spam folder or else

- Put the right settings on mail setup (to, subject, from name, from email, and made it active)
- on general settings I set Email the results ? = yes
- I disabled the security token
- I ran the debug mode with no errors (I also activate maximum error reports on joomla and no errors reported
- I tried dozens of combinations on server configuration /Mail Settings using valid emails and passwords and right server settings
- I linked the used server email to a contact (I just read somebody sugesting that)
- Used diferent emails as sender and receiver
- there is no errors in the debug messages (I'm not using databases, spam filter or captchas just to reduce the error margin

1. Form passed first SPAM check OK
2. Form passed the submissions limit (if enabled) OK
3. Form passed the Image verification (if enabled) OK
4. Form passed the server side validation (if enabled) OK
5. $_POST Array: Array ( [firstname] => william [emailaddress] => [email]wg@willimagalindo.com[/email] [phone] => 267-597-1998 [mailingaddress] => tere adsf asdfa sads fsf [contact] => email [best_contact] => casca [job] => Outdoor Signs [productservice] => tres trs [submit] => Submit [eb8ef3e45c6e4c970f531079f7926306] => 1 [1cf1] => 7e632740414569f3ec3dcccdac8956f2 [chronoformname] => formulario1 )
6. $_FILES Array: Array ( )
7. Form passed the plugins step (if enabled) OK

what what else can I do?
thanks

Hi William,

I aasume that this has nothing to do with the submit button but that your emails aren't sending???

It looks as though they may not be enabled on the Email Setup | Properties box.

it is enabled, I'm trying to send to a gmail account and to a yahoo account, the server is sending fine, I just tried with a test form using ckforms and it send straight at the first try, it is something in chronoforms settings or perhaps incompatibility with joomla 1.5.20

Hi William,

What is the entry in the Emails column of the Form Manager. It will be something like Enabled :1, Disabled: 0?

There are no problems with emails in 1.5.20 that I know of.
